09.19.2014 Old Testament: Ecc 7.11–12
To read the Bible in a year, read Ecclesiastes 7–9 on September 19, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
It is nice to have both wisdom and money, as Solomon said,
Wisdom is good with an inheritance,
And profitable to those who see the sun.
(Ecclesiastes 7.11)
The potential for endless good comes with having both, but what if you do not have both? If you could choose between the two, which would you choose? Solomon continued,
For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense,
But the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.
(Ecclesiastes 7.12)
Money does not give you life, but wisdom does. Also, if you have money, but you lack wisdom, you will soon be without the money!
