Who is she?

Song of Solomon Bible Background

09.23.2014 Old Testament: Song 6.10

To read the Bible in a year, read Song of Solomon 6–8 on September 23, In the year of our Lord 2014

By Don Ruhl

Solomon had said that no woman compared to his Shulamite, not even the sixty queens and eighty concubines that he already had. Then he said,

Who is she who looks forth as the morning,
Fair as the moon,
Clear as the sun,
Awesome as an army with banners?
(Song of Solomon 6.10)

Just in her person alone, without being the queen, she looked like the morning, as beautiful as the moon, and as clear as the sun. Her presence brought awesomeness into the heart the same way an army with banners would.

She is the gift of God.

  1. Recommended reading: The Bhagavad-Gita As It Is translated by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaja. This is the preliminary literature for understanding who we are, what is our ultimate purpose in life and Who God is, in truth, spoken by the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself, five thousand years ago; the Supreme anthropologist. You might find some interesting insights on my blog page. Blessed be.

      • Hmm…where to begin. Except for my two published books and health tips on my blog page, everything that is there is about and surrounding Who God is, in actuality. Of course, there is only so much I can upload on the blog page, as my idea is to keep it simple and informative. If anyone is then interested to gain more understanding, I then reveal/guide them to more deeper insights.

Having grown up in a Christian atmosphere until late teenage years, I have now adopted what is called the Gaudiya vaisnava path or way of life. Even after having to pass Bible study as a subject before I could graduate from high school, I was still left with many unanswered questions, which to this day the Bible or preachers cannot answer. Considering that the innumerable versions of the Bible out there has also been altered over time.

I can share a link to some of our ancient texts online for free, (which by the way, the knowledge therein, is older than mankind, yet timeless, because it is coming from the very Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself), but I will only do so, if your interest is piqued.

I am not here to discount the Bible, because at least it gives an understanding that there is a God. But real advancement in spiritual life, is not such an easy and final thing, as to follow one text and that’s the end of it.Spiritual advancement is like going to school. When we’ve learnt what we need to in first grade, we move up to second grade and so on. It’s a gradual process and there is always something more to learn.

        Blessed be.

What are those questions that you believe the Bible cannot answer?

      • With all respects Sir, I share something which someone the other day, was discussing with me regarding the Bible and it’s teachings. She said ‘the Bible is composed of 66 books written by 40 different authors over 2000 years,’ in her defense of justifying its authenticity. I replied, ‘well, that statement in and of itself, says a lot about the Bible,’ and then I suggested she read my post on ‘You-mean-that-in-the-bible and the two other posts relating to Jesus on my blog page. I can only hope you will see those posts and then you will get a gist of why I understand the Bible to be incomplete for real spiritual advancement or giving real insights into Who God actually is and how He wants us to serve Him. Blessed be.
