10.04.2014 New Testament: Eph 6.13
To read the Bible in a year, read Ephesians 6 on October 4, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
Our battle as Christians is not merely against flesh and blood, but, “against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6.12).
These forces wield massive power, and only by wearing God’s armor can we survive the onslaught,
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand (Ephesians 6.13).
We not only survive, but we withstand the evil powers, and then we stand victorious. Join the winning side in this great war!

Withstand and stand. What a combination!

Standing just seems to take withstanding to another level. We can withstand the enemy, but then in the end, we must be able to stand.
