10.12.2014 Old Testament: Isa 48.17–19
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 48–49 on October 12, In the year of our Lord 2014

Even the Lord ponders what could have been, in this case, what could have been with His people, had they listened to Him and done what He said to do,
Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer,
The Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God,
Who teaches you to profit,
Who leads you by the way you should go.
Oh, that you had heeded My commandments!
Then your peace would have been like a river,
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Your descendants also would have been like the sand,
And the offspring of your body like the grains of sand;
His name would not have been cut off
Nor destroyed from before Me.”
The Lord thought of all that He could have taught His people and how they could have had peace, righteousness, and families as a result, but they would not heed what He said.
Let it be that He can say of us that we listen to Him, and thus we fill our lives with wonderful things.
