11.08.2014 New Testament: Heb 5.10–11
To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 5 on November 8, In the year of our Lord 2014

Jesus, as the Author of our eternal salvation, has been perfected, and so He now serves as our High Priest, as the Book of Hebrews declares,
…called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,” of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing (Hebrews 5.10–11).
The priesthood of Jesus is like the priesthood of Melchizedek, of whom we read in Genesis 14, but the people to whom the Book of Hebrews was first written, could not understand this concept. It was not as though they were new Christians, but they had just ceased listening to the word of God, and that made it difficult for them to comprehend the great truths of Scripture.
We know that our natural hearing becomes dull over time, but our spiritual hearing does not have to become dull, rather we can sharpen it, but we have to commit ourselves to hearing the word of God.
