For the most part, if you zealously follow what is good, people will not harm you. However, there will be exceptions to that rule, and when that happens, Peter said this,

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled” (1 Peter 3.14). 

You are still blessed. Therefore, do not let their threats trouble you, but continue to follow what is good.
