We call John the apostle of love, because he wrote many words on love, but we can also call him the apostle of black and white, since he presented things that way, as in this passage,

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God (3 John 11). 

Is there something hard to understand about that teaching? Did John paint a gray area?
