The Lord hears

Sometimes we do not do so good on patience. We cry to the Lord about a matter, and expect an immediate answer, and if we do not get one, we assume the Lord has not heard us.

Jacob loved Rachel, and Leah knew it. Therefore, she hoped that having children would endear her husband to her. The Bible tells us about the birth of her second son,

Then she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Because the Lord has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also.” And she called his name Simeon (Genesis 29.33).

She obviously did not have a child immediately, but she had to wait, and in waiting, she learned that the Lord hears. This truth so touched her that she named her second son Simeon, meaning heard.

The Lord hears your prayers, but be patient and remember that He runs the universe and life on Earth. He knows what He is doing.
