Pharaoh thought very highly of Joseph, and was thankful for all that Joseph had done for the nation of Egypt. Therefore, he told Pharaoh gladly when his family came down to Egypt,
Then Joseph went and told Pharaoh, and said, “My father and my brothers, their flocks and their herds and all that they possess, have come from the land of Canaan; and indeed they are in the land of Goshen” (Genesis 47.1).
Joseph knew how Pharaoh would react to such news, that he would be delighted to meet Joseph’s family and to welcome them into the land. Joseph knew he would have a good reception from Pharaoh, because Joseph saved Egypt, and Pharaoh had already shown his appreciation. Therefore, Pharaoh helped those who helped him and his nation.
Help people whenever you can, just because it is the right thing to do, not looking for any reward. However, the Lord sees what you do, and someday you shall need help, and He will provide it.
