Rumors of the true identity of Jesus filled the land of Israel. Even King Herod had an opinion of Jesus,
Now King Herod heard of Him, for His name had become well known. And he said, “John the Baptist is risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.” Others said, “It is Elijah.” And others said, “It is the Prophet, or like one of the prophets” (Mark 6.14–15).
Herod thought Jesus was John the Baptist, but other people thought Jesus was Elijah, or the Prophet who would be like Moses, and others thought that Jesus might have been one of the other prophets.
If someone said that I was one of those men, it would be a high compliment, but for Jesus it was not, and showed that they did not know the prophecies nor did they truly see Jesus for who He was.
What do you think of Jesus?
