The Sadducees did not believe in the resurrection. Therefore, they presented Jesus with a question that they thought He could not answer. Before He answered their question, He revealed their two-fold problem,

Jesus answered and said to them, “Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God?” (Mark 12.24). 

Be ignorant of everything in the world, but know the Scriptures and the power of God, and you will know what you need to know to have eternal life.

Know everything in the world, but be ignorant of the Scriptures and of the power of God, and you will not attain to eternal life.

The Sadducees had serious problems. However, you are searching the Scriptures. Do not stop, for then you will know that God can do anything.
