03.28.2015 Old Testament: Jos 21.43–45
To read the Bible in a year, read Joshua 21–22 on March 28, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
The Lord made a promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that their descendants would inherit the Land of Canaan, which was necessary for the Lord to set up a nation whereby He would show the world what He wants and what He does not want, and it would be a place where He could have prophets who would speak of the fulfillment of another promise to the fathers, that in Abraham all the families of the Earth can be blessed. The Book of Joshua shows the fulfillment of the Nation-Land promise,
So the Lord gave to Israel all the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it and dwelt in it. The Lord gave them rest all around, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers. And not a man of all their enemies stood against them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand. Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass (Joshua 21.43–45).
You will hear people say that Israel never received all the land. Read over that passage again and see what the Holy Spirit said.
