05.14.2015 Old Testament: 2Ki 9.30–33
To read the Bible in a year, read Second Kings 9–11 on May 14, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
When a woman anointed Jesus and others criticized her for it, He told them to leave her alone, because she prepared His body for burial.
Jezebel prepared her own body for burial, although she may not have realized it, and truly, she was not buried, but dogs ate her,
Now when Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked through a window. Then, as Jehu entered at the gate, she said, “Is it peace, Zimri, murderer of your master?” And he looked up at the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” So two or three eunuchs looked out at him. Then he said, “Throw her down.” So they threw her down, and some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses; and he trampled her underfoot (2 Kings 9.30–33).
She tried to make herself look pretty, but on the inside she was ugly, and so she did not have a pretty ending.

Well, that was truly a way of looking at Jezzie’s burial. Never thought about that. I have to go get prettied up for a women’s dessert event at church. 🙂
