To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 27.1–15 on July 27, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
As a Christian and a preacher, Paul looked out for the welfare of all people, even of those who held him as a prisoner. Therefore, when he traveled on a ship under Roman guard, he had warned of disaster in the making, and when that disaster came upon the ship, Luke recorded these words of Paul,
But after long abstinence from food, then Paul stood in the midst of them and said, “Men, you should have listened to me, and not have sailed from Crete and incurred this disaster and loss” (Acts 27.21).
Then he set out to help them! Paul lived and preached what he did, not because he despised people, but he loved people. Does that picture you?
