07.27.2015 Old Testament: Psa 51.3–4
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 50–52 on July 27, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
We know that impenitent sin will take us to hell, but have you thought on what sin does to us now? As David contemplated his conspiracy in murder and having committed adultery, he grieved deeply and said to the Lord,
For I acknowledge my transgressions,
And my sin is always before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned,
And done this evil in Your sight—
That You may be found just when You speak,
And blameless when You judge.
He thought constantly on what he had done and it tore his soul up. Then when he thought of how he had sinned against the Lord, David realized the horrible thing that he had done and that the Lord saw it all.
