With a word, the Lord dispenses with kings

Psalms Bible Background

08.02.2015 Old Testament: Psa 68.11–14

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 68–69 on August 2, In the year of our Lord 2015

By Don Ruhl

Kings of the Earth attack the Lord’s people, but the kings do not prevail, although at first it appears that they might,

The Lord gave the word;
Great was the company of those who proclaimed it:
“Kings of armies flee, they flee,
And she who remains at home divides the spoil.
Though you lie down among the sheepfolds,
You will be like the wings of a dove covered with silver,
And her feathers with yellow gold.”
When the Almighty scattered kings in it,
It was white as snow in Zalmon.
(Psalm 68.11–14)

The proof of this passage is history. Where are all the enemies of the Lord’s people, either of Israel of old or of the church? All our enemies have fallen, but the church continues, enjoying whatever our enemies have left behind.
