Our enemies think that God has forsaken us

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 70–72 on August 3, In the year of our Lord 2015

By Don Ruhl

The church has been on the Earth for over 1900 years, but in the Western World, it has declined. Has God forsaken us? Do our enemies now believe they can go after us? Listen to the psalmist,

Do not cast me off in the time of old age;
Do not forsake me when my strength fails.
For my enemies speak against me;
And those who lie in wait for my life take counsel together,
Saying, “God has forsaken him;
Pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver him.”
(Psalm 71.9–11)

Our enemies look at the church and see an old institution that they believe has become outdated and irrelevant, but little do they know how much they need the church. They see us as weak, so now they seek to silence us. However, call upon God, asking Him to strengthen us and not to forsake us. Then we will see what happens.
