The gods and the makers of gods shall be shamed

Psalms Bible Background

08.13.2015 Old Testament: Psa 97.7

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 96–98 on August 13, In the year of our Lord 2015

By Don Ruhl

The Ninety-Seventh Psalm makes a great boast, and it has come to pass throughout the world throughout all history and the present time,

Let all be put to shame who serve carved images,
Who boast of idols.
Worship Him, all you gods.
(Psalm 97.7)

Where are the makers of carved images and what has happened to their civilizations? They have perished from the Earth and no one worships the idols of the past anymore, and those gods that are worshiped today, shall have the same end as the gods of the past.

Then the people of those places shall worship the Lord our God, and they shall recognize Jesus as the Lord of heaven and Earth.
