To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 7–9 on September 26, In the year of our Lord 2015

By Don Ruhl

As the Lord prophesied through Isaiah of the doom that He the Lord would pour out on Israel by the hand of the Assyrians, the Lord said,

And it shall come to pass in that day
That the Lord will whistle for the fly
That is in the farthest part of the rivers of Egypt,
And for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
They will come, and all of them will rest
In the desolate valleys and in the clefts of the rocks,
And on all thorns and in all pastures.
(Isaiah 7.18–19)

The Lord would use whatever resource necessary to pour out His wrath on Israel, for they had turned against Him, and refused to repent. Therefore, He would call upon even the smallest parts of creation and bring them to the land of Israel, and they would add to the affliction of Israel.
