10.07.2015 Old Testament: Isa 37.30–32
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 37–38 on October 7, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
How many signs did God give in the Bible? I do not know of anyone who has counted all the signs, so we will say for the present that they are without number. When Assyria prepared to attack Judah, King Hezekiah and all the Jews feared. Therefore, they prayed to God, and He answered back,
“This shall be a sign to you:
You shall eat this year such as grows of itself,
And the second year what springs from the same;
Also in the third year sow and reap,
Plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them.
And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah
Shall again take root downward,
And bear fruit upward.
For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant,
And those who escape from Mount Zion.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.”
(Isaiah 37.30–32)
It happened just as He said. Assyria went away, and Judah became fruitful again, eventually giving the world the Messiah.
