We can read the Scripture, and understand and believe what it teaches about living as Christ did, but we also need to see mature Christians walking as Jesus walked. We just need to see the Scripture in action. Therefore, Paul urged,

Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern (Philippians 3.17). 

When you see someone living as we should live, point out that disciple to others, especially to new or young disciples.
