Great powers ruled over Israel of old, and over the church, but eventually those powers fell, and the Lord’s people prevailed, as the Lord said to Israel once,

Thus says the Lord:
“The labor of Egypt and merchandise of Cush
And of the Sabeans, men of stature,
Shall come over to you, and they shall be yours;
They shall walk behind you,
They shall come over in chains;
And they shall bow down to you.
They will make supplication to you, saying, ‘Surely God is in you,
And there is no other;
There is no other God.’”
(Isaiah 45.14) 

That made me chuckle, because those enemies of Israel never would have imagined themselves doing such things, but they did. May the enemies of the church learn from history. All our enemies have fallen and the church continues to reign on the Earth.
