11.06.2015 New Testament: Heb 3.17
To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 3 on November 6, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
How many children of Israel died in the wilderness? We do not know the exact number, although we know that it included over 600,000 men between the ages of 20 and 50, but not counting the tribe of Levi! Why did the Lord take the lives of so many of them?
Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? (Hebrews 3.17).
Granted, everyone sins, but they practiced open rebellion against the Lord by not listening to His servant Moses. In Hebrews 4, the writer makes the point that we will fail to enter heaven, if we also rebel against the Lord.
