Some people believe that the people who lived before Christ lived on the Earth were not forgiven of their sins. However, consider what the following passage teaches,
And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance (Hebrews 9.15).
God forgave those people, because the blood of Jesus flowed in both directions, toward us and toward the people who lived before, and knowing that He would send Jesus to die for the sins of the world, God forgave them when they did what He told them to do to be forgiven, based upon what He would do later in the death of Christ.
