Jesus means business, and I cannot think of an image that promotes His seriousness more than what comes out of His mouth,

“And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, ‘These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword…’” (Revelation 2.12; See also Revelation 1.16). 

That church needed to hear what the Lord Jesus Christ had to say to it as much as they would listen to a man standing before them with a drawn two-edged sword. How intently do you listen to Jesus?
