12.19.2015 Old Testament: Mic 2.6–7
To read the Bible in a year, read Micah 1–3 on December 19, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
We can tell the Lord’s preachers not to condemn us, or not to show the consequences of our actions, but the Lord promises something to those who do walk uprightly,
“Do not prattle,” you say to those who prophesy.
So they shall not prophesy to you;
They shall not return insult for insult.
You who are named the house of Jacob:
“Is the Spirit of the Lord restricted?
Are these His doings?
Do not My words do good
To him who walks uprightly?”
(Micah 2.6–7)
Do not ever tell a man who announces to you the word of God that he should stop. It is not the preacher who wants those things said, it is the Lord’s doing. Moreover, if you heed what a preacher declares, the word of the Lord shall bless you.
And might I add, that the preacher must himself be true to God’s word as he walks uprightly.
