The Lord wants to know whether we understand His word. After teaching, He asked His apostles,

Jesus said to them, “Have you understood all these things?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord” (Matthew 13.51). 

He wants you to know what and why you believe, and He wants you to know why you do the things that you do. However, we do not always understand the Scripture. Therefore, pray to God relentlessly, asking for His help.
