Some think they cannot use what little they have

Matthew Bible Background

02.08.2016 New Testament: Matt 25.18

To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 25.1–30 on February 8, In the year of our Lord 2016

By Don Ruhl

The Lord spoke a parable of a man who went to a distant country, leaving with his servants money that they might invest or do something with it, that it might grow while he was gone. The Bible says of the man who received one piece of money,

“But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money” (Matthew 25.18).

In his mind, he could not afford to lose the one piece that he had, but if he had simply done what his master wanted, the master would be liable. The servant did not think that way. Therefore, he hid the money. The rest of the parable shows that the master was not happy at all.

What can you do for the Lord? Is it only one thing? If so, are you using it? If not, why not? Get busy before the Lord returns that you might have something to show Him.
