02.11.2016 New Testament: Matt 26.31
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 26.20–54 on February 11, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Jesus declared boldly to His disciples what they would do later the same night that He spoke to them, and He quoted Scripture to show that their actions had been foretold centuries before,
Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written:
‘I will strike the Shepherd,
And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’”(Matt 26.31).
He loved those men. Yet, He also loved God and loved the word of God. He knew that the Scriptures spoke the truth, and so He declared it. Oh how that must have filled His heart with sorrow.
I’m going to email you a copy of my Holy Week devotion that I did. This verse was used.
