02.12.2016 Old Testament: Lev 14.43–47
To read the Bible in a year, read Leviticus 14 on February 12, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Not only did the plague of leprosy attach itself to man, but what they experienced back then could even attach itself to a home,
“Now if the plague comes back and breaks out in the house, after he has taken away the stones, after he has scraped the house, and after it is plastered, then the priest shall come and look; and indeed if the plague has spread in the house, it is an active leprosy in the house. It is unclean. And he shall break down the house, its stones, its timber, and all the plaster of the house, and he shall carry them outside the city to an unclean place. Moreover he who goes into the house at all while it is shut up shall be unclean until evening. And he who lies down in the house shall wash his clothes, and he who eats in the house shall wash his clothes. (Leviticus 14.43–47).
The children of Israel had to do everything God said to avoid either getting leprosy or to avoid spreading it. Therefore, if the first attempt to cleanse a home failed, they had to destroy the home, taking the rubble to an unclean place.
We ought to look at sin the way God wanted Israel to look at leprosy. Stop it immediately! Do not let it spread!
“…could even attach itself to a home,” I so agree, especially the homes we call the church. Putting a stop to it “immediately” is something we must do, but first we must acknowledge that sin is crouching at our doors. Amen.

Sin wants in badly, but as you say, we must stop it.
