To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 8.1–21 on February 29, In the year of our Lord 2016

A little leaven goes a long way. Therefore, watch out for little ideas or attitudes, for what they might do inside of you might surprise you later, as Jesus warned His disciples,
Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread” (Mark 8.15–16).
They thought He spoke of bread that you put into your mouth and it goes into your stomach, but Jesus spoke of ideas and attitudes that go into our ears and enter our minds. There they grow and can make us into something contrary to what the Lord wants us to be.
Questions:
- Have you checked everything you believe, every attitude, and everything you do in life with the Scriptures?
- Do you know what to do when you find something contrary within yourself?
