03.03.2016 Old Testament: Num 31.12
To read the Bible in a year, read Numbers 30–31 on March 3, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
The Lord wanted the children of Israel to take vengeance on the Midianites, and Israel did so, winning the battle, and,
Then they brought the captives, the booty, and the spoil to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, to the camp in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho (Numbers 31.12).
Every man did not think of himself, but brought back the spoils and presented them to the men who had direct communication with the Lord. He would then tell them what to do with the spoils of war.
Think about this: Slaves wander in the wilderness and when someone opposes them, since the opposers have already rebelled against the Lord God, the slaves conquer them easily when they follow the Lord. When they do not, they suffer just as much as their enemies.
Questions:
- Do you think of the Lord first when you are paid?
- Do you do more than think of the Lord; do you also bring the firstfruits to Him?
