03.14.2016 New Testament: Mark 14.65
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 14.51–72 on March 14, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
The Jews had no idea what they did, but with their hands they pummeled the Son of God, for had they known His true identity, which they could have and should have known, they never would have done something so horrible,
Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him, and to say to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers struck Him with the palms of their hands (Mark 14.65).
If He was the Christ, although blindfolded, He could identify who hit Him. However, He chose to remain silent as they punched and slapped Him, the Son of God! I hope that they were among the 3,000 on the Day of Pentecost who repented and were baptized into the name of Jesus Christ.
- Have you committed a sin worse then beating the Son of God?
- If not, do you realize that even as the Lord offered forgiveness to these men, that He also offers it to you?
- Have you been baptized for the remission of your sins?
