03.17.2016 New Testament: Mark 16.15–16
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 16 on March 17, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
After Jesus completed His earthly ministry, and just before He ascended into heaven, He told His disciples what to do, and what would happen to people when they responded to the work of the apostles,
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16.15–16).
They would start preaching from their current location and then spread throughout the world, and we continue the work they initiated by the Lord’s command. Jesus said that whoever believed what they preached, and was baptized, would be saved, but if someone did not believe, they would be condemned.
They could submit to baptism a thousand times, yet, if they failed to believe, they would not enter heaven. They could believe with every fiber of their being, but if they were not baptized, they would not be saved.
- Have you been baptized to be saved?
- What are you doing to see that the church preaches the Gospel in all the world?
