Jesus cast a multitude of demons out of a man and the demons went into a herd of swine, who then ran into a lake and died. When the local people heard of it, they asked Him to leave, because they feared Him,

Then the whole multitude of the surrounding region of the Gadarenes asked Him to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. And He got into the boat and returned (Luke 8.37).

He did not rebuke them, nor did He assure them that they had nothing to fear, but He did as they requested, for if someone does not want Him around, He will leave.

• Do you want Jesus around?
• Why would anyone not want Jesus present?
