Have you heard of Pekahiah? You haven’t! Perhaps you know him as King Pekahiah. Still does not ring a bell? And there is a good reason you do not know him, for although a king of Israel, he was a wicked king who ruled for only two years. His reign ended because someone assassinated him, and then the Bible says,
Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, indeed they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel (2 Kings 15.26).
After only two years of a wicked reign, the Bible did not have much to say about him, and the only reason we know the little of him that we do, is that he served as a king of the northern kingdom.
- If the Bible wrote a brief account of your life, let’s say 500 words or less, what would the Bible say?
- Do you live for self or for the Lord?
