The Jewish Council ordered the apostles to quit preaching Jesus in Jerusalem. However, Peter and John revealed that they could not obey such an order, as they said,
“For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4.20).
Those men followed Jesus wherever He went for three and a half years, seeing the works He performed, and hearing the words He spoke. Then they watched Him die, and afterwards, they saw Him raised from the dead, and finally they watched Him ascend into heaven.
Could you remain silent after seeing and hearing all those things?
