Speaking the truth often brings rejection and even persecution, as it did for Paul and Silas in Berea,
But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came there also and stirred up the crowds (Acts 17.13).
Persecutors are never content to persecute alone, but they stir up crowds and create a mob mentality to intimidate those they persecute.
