07.31.2016 – Old Testament: Psa 63.6–8
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 62–64 on July 31, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
What goes through your mind when you have gone to bed? If you want to know why David became the man that he did, consider what he thought on during the night,
When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.
Because You have been my help,
Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
My soul follows close behind You;
Your right hand upholds me.
(Psalm 63.6–8)
David automatically thought on God because David remembered what God had done for him, giving him help, bringing joy to David that he could hide under the shadow of God’s wings. David’s soul stayed close to God and that caused Him to uphold David.
Questions:
- What do you think about during the night?
- Have you thought about thinking on God when you cannot sleep?
