Bless the Lord as angels do!

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 103–104 on August 15, In the year of our Lord 2016

By Don Ruhl

Angels bless the Lord and truly all His works bless Him. What about us? What about you? It is written,

Bless the LORD, you His angels,
Who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.
Bless the LORD, all you His hosts,
You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
Bless the LORD, all His works,
In all places of His dominion.
Bless the LORD, O my soul!
(Psalm 103.20–22)

Angels should bless the Lord, because they do His word. All the Lord’s hosts should bless Him, because they do His pleasure. In all places where He has dominion, His works bless Him. Therefore, the psalmist told himself to bless the Lord.

Questions:

  • Do you bless the Lord, or do you only pray to Him when you need something?
