08.17.2016 – Old Testament: Psa 107.23–30
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 107–108 on August 17, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
How vast is the land of the Earth and we see its wonders daily. How much more vast is the ocean and how much more vast its wonders! As the psalmist said,
Those who go down to the sea in ships,
Who do business on great waters,
They see the works of the Lord,
And His wonders in the deep.
For He commands and raises the stormy wind,
Which lifts up the waves of the sea.
They mount up to the heavens,
They go down again to the depths;
Their soul melts because of trouble.
They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man,
And are at their wits’ end.
Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble,
And He brings them out of their distresses.
He calms the storm,
So that its waves are still.
Then they are glad because they are quiet;
So He guides them to their desired haven.
You have either been through storms on the sea or you have seen videos of ships in storms, and truly that water can throw around the largest ships, but then most of them survive the journey, and they should give God the credit!
- Have you been in situations where you could not see a resolution, but you came out of it, and believed that it could only have been God who saved you?
