08.29.2016 Old Testament: Psa 139.13–16
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 139–141 on August 29, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Countless volumes have been written, and even more sermons have been delivered, on this wonderful passage,
For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
What can I say that has not already been written or spoken on this glorious text? I will simply add for you to think on the marvels of your body. Only One with super intelligence, or better yet, only One with divine intelligence could have created your body. Your ancestors did not crawl out of a slime pit somewhere, but the God of heaven made your self-maintaining body.
Every time you learn something new about your body, think of this amazing passage and do what David did, glorify your Creator.
