10.07.2016 – New Testament: Phi 3.18–19
To read the Bible in a year, read Philippians 3 on October 7, In the year of our Lord 2016

Paul said that the church should note those who follow the pattern of the apostles, who were following the pattern of Christ (Philippians 3.17). Then Paul explained why,
For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things (Philippians 3.18–19).
Paul spoke of those claiming to follow Christ when the apostle made that accusation. Still today, the same thing happens. Many people, whether in the church or out of the church, have made their bodies their god, and they do shameful things, even glorying in what they do. They set their mind on earthly things rather than on heavenly things.
Therefore, find people in your local church who follow the example of Christ and use them as a modern guide for living the life of Christ.
Questions:
- Do you have people in your congregation who are Christ-like?
- Have often do you fellowship with them, that you might acquire more of their Christ-like thinking?
