10.08.2016 – New Testament: Phi 4.14
To read the Bible in a year, read Philippians 4 on October 8, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Paul had learned the secret of contentment, knowing how to have contentment in any circumstance of life, whether in prosperity or adversity, but he still thanked the brethren when they remembered him during those times of adversity,
Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress (Philippians 4.14).
Is this not one of the high distinctions of a Christian? We do not abandon our friends in their distress, but we find a way to share in that distress with them, like Job’s friends, sitting in the dirt with him, mourning what had happened to him.
Questions:
- How far are you willing to go for the sake of your fellow-Christians?
- How far have others gone for you?
