10.13.2016 – New Testament: 1Th 1.5
To read the Bible in a year, read First Thessalonians 1 on October 13, In the year of our Lord 2016

If the Good News that the New Testament reveals, did not come from God, then it is simply a good story, whereas if it did come from our Creator, it is more than just a word, as Paul wrote,
For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake (1 Thessalonians 1.5).
The Gospel has power because the Holy Spirit was back of the writing. What you read in the Scriptures, did not come from man, but from the Spirit of God. Therefore, it has power that man could never have infused into his word.
Questions:
- What power do you see in the written word of God?
