11.21.2016 – Old Testament: Eze 25.8–11
To read the Bible in a year, read Ezekiel 24–26 on November 21, In the year of our Lord 2016

Some of Israel’s close neighbors expressed serious misunderstandings of ancient Israel, claiming that Israel was just like all the nations,
“Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Because Moab and Seir say, “Look! The house of Judah is like all the nations,” therefore, behold, I will clear the territory of Moab of cities, of the cities on its frontier, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kirjathaim. To the men of the East I will give it as a possession, together with the Ammonites, that the Ammonites may not be remembered among the nations. And I will execute judgments upon Moab, and they shall know that I am the LORD’” (Ezekiel 25.8–11).
Saying that the nation of God is like all the other nations, means that God is like all the gods of the nations. It also means that He has done nothing special with His people. Israel’s neighbors paid a heavy price for such an accusation, for now they are gone from the Earth.
Likewise, anyone who says that the modern nation of God, the church, is just like anything else on Earth, has again denied the work of God, and shall pay a heavy price for blaspheming Him and His people.
Questions:
- Do you see the church as unique on the Earth?
- Do your actions show what you believe about the uniqueness of the church?
