Believing is good, but it has to go further

James Bible Background

11.20.2016 – New Testament: Jam 2.19–20

To read the Bible in a year, read James 2 on November 20, In the year of our Lord 2016

If you claim to have faith, but your life does not show it, what good has your faith done you? As James said,

You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? (James 2.19–20).

Are you better than a demon? I hope so, but the demons know that God exists and they know that there is only one God, implying that even they know that idols are dead and false gods.

So then, if you hope to go higher than the demons, put your faith into action, otherwise, you have a dead faith and a dead faith will not save you.

Questions:

  • Do you show your faith?
  • How do you show it?
