After suffering comes relief

Ezekiel Bible Background

11.22.2016 – Old Testament: Eze 28.24

To read the Bible in a year, read Ezekiel 27–28 on November 22, In the year of our Lord 2016

By Don Ruhl

In ancient times, the nation of Israel had been surrounded by enemies, who acted like irritating thorns in the side of Israel, but in time, the Lord restored Israel to their land and He helped them fight off their enemies. He promised,

“And there shall no longer be a pricking brier or a painful thorn for the house of Israel from among all who are around them, who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the Lord GOD” (Ezekiel 28.24).

The Lord did that wonderful work for Israel, and if we walk with Him today, He shall make even our enemies to have peace with us.

Questions:

  • Do you think about walking with the Lord daily?
  • If not, what could you do to help you think that way?
