To read the Bible in a year, read Second Peter 3 on December 1, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
When Jesus returns, He shall destroy the Earth, and since He will have done that, we get to live with Him in heaven. However, that does not come automatically so that we just get it for being human. No, we have to live the life that He commands. Therefore, are you living in anticipation of His return?
Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation…” (2 Peter 3.14–15).
Peter began his exhortation assuming that we would look forward to the end when Jesus returns and destroys the Earth, and since we look forward to that day, we know that we want Him to find us in a pleasing condition, that we are living in peace, without spot and blameless, knowing that the time between now and the return of Christ is simply the Lord showing us His longsuffering.
- Are you living in peace, without spot and blameless?
- If not, what do you need to do to so live?
