12.11.2016 New Testament: Rev 2.10–11
To read the Bible in a year, read Revelation 2 on December 11, In the year of our Lord 2016

Many people live in constant fear, fear of death in particular, yet, death comes to all of us eventually. Should we not prepare for it by living as the Lord of heaven and Earth directs? Some of us will experience persecution before death, and others of us will experience persecution unto death, as Jesus told the church at Smyrna,
“Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death” (Revelation 2.10–11).
Those Christians needed to focus on the promise of Jesus, that if they endured, He would give them the crown of life. Those last couple of sentences show that this teaching was not just for them, but we need to hear it also.
Do not live your life in constant fear, but determine right now to fix your eyes on the crown of life Jesus has promised you, which we experience later, not now.
